40 Years of Community: Updating Our Visuals, Website, and Strategy
Chair Message, Mark Smith
As we move into the fall, the Manor Park Community Council (MPCC) is marking a major milestone: our 40th year serving this community.
For four decades, the MPCC has supported Manor Park and surrounding communities through childcare, recreational programs, and events that bring neighbours together. Entering our 40th year gives us a chance to build on that foundation and set a clear path forward.
Over the past year, you may have noticed our updated logo and visual branding appearing in our newsletter, at 1805 Gaspe and around the neighbourhood. While this hasn't been a sudden reveal, this fall marks the official rollout as we fully adopt the new look across all our platforms and materials. The logo is inspired by people, connection, and togetherness, with shapes that come together to subtly represent two figures gathering and supporting one another.
Alongside our updated look, we are launching a completely redesigned website this fall. Our objective is simple: make a modern, inviting website that makes it easier for residents to find program information, register for activities, and stay informed about community initiatives.
Beyond our brand and digital presence, our focus this fall is developing a new Strategic Plan. This strategy will guide the MPCC’s priorities and decision-making over the coming years.
A good plan requires direct input from the community. Over the summer, many residents completed our community survey, sharing valuable perspectives on what is working well, where we have gaps, and where we should direct our energy. We are actively compiling this feedback to ensure our strategic goals line up with what matters most to neighborhood residents.
If you have not had a chance to complete the survey yet, it is still open, and we want your input. Whether you are a long-time resident or new to Manor Park, your perspective helps shape our work. You can access the survey link through the Manor Park Listserv, our regular email newsletters, or directly on our website. Please take a few minutes to share your thoughts.
Thank you for your continued support as we mark 40 years of the MPCC. We look forward to continuing to serve Manor Park and our neighbours for many more.
