Survival Guide

Welcome to Manor Park!

You may not fully realize it yet but you have chosen well. We have just about everything you’ll need either for family living or for the solo life. While officially in Ottawa, Manor Park is unique in its isolation from the rest of Ottawa and its proximity to many other communities. For example, we border two other communities -- Rockcliffe and Vanier -- and are very close to a third community -- Gloucester. Services provided by these close neighbours normally cost the same, so remember to check them out if you are looking for something specific. We also have National Capital Commission land bordering two sides of our community -- a green space blessing which we have been known to fight hard to retain. All this and we’re only about four kilometers from City Hall, the Byward Market and from Parliament Hill.

We’re a well organized community, as you’ll see through reading this website and we hope that you will join in the many activities that go on here. All of this useful information is brought to you courtesy of the Manor Park Chronicle, its two supporting groups and its faithful advertisers.

We encourage you to browse through the information provided in this section of the site titled 'Survival Guide' to become more familiar with the many services available in our community and important contact information around the city. We hope this information will help answer some of your questions as well as provide you with an overview of the many ways our city and community services touch your everyday lives.

From political representatives, to schools, there are numerous opportunities for you to play an active role in contributing to life in Manor Park. Being on a board or committee administered by our community will give you the chance to provide your valuable input to enhance everyday life in Manor Park.

We encourage you to approach Community Representives with any concerns. Let's join forces to help our community grow and prosper!
