West Nile Information

The City of Ottawa Health Department is the lead agency on West Nile Virus. Residents may call the Health Department (580-2400 / 24. hr - 7 days a week) or 720-2200 during normal office hours for information of programs and prevention measures for homeowners etc. This also common any sightings of dead birds, especially crows. As a landowner in the City, the NCC will try to ensure that operational activity on its lands does not create "man-made" mosquito habitat (eg: tire ruts and debris where water can accumulate) and where practical, reduce mosquito breeding sites on its lands in close proximity to residential areas (this could include applying larvacide).
