Development Committee - Building a Virtual Library

The MPCA Development Committee is looking to establish a "Virtual Library" of Manor Park documents, reports, newspaper articles, photos, and any other information that you might have in your possession. While documents specifically related to Manor Park are being sought, any information related to our area's built and natural environment would be useful.

This information will be useful for anyone wanting to know a little bit more about the history and development of Manor Park, but it will also be important in maintaining and guiding the development of Manor Park in the future. As mentioned in the last issue of the Manor Park Chronicle, the MPCA Development Committee is hoping to help jumpstart the City of Ottawa's Community Design Plan process.

You Can Help Today
Information on land use planning, transportation, heritage, and environmental issues would be particularly useful, but let us know what you have. Who knows, maybe you have an original concept drawing of the Greber Plan insulating a garage. Your Development Committee is looking forward to hearing from you. Every little bit will help - even if it is just the title of a document.

MP Virtual Library
What will we do with your documents? We would like to scan your documents and then create a "virtual library" that would be accessible through our Manor Park website. We will not keep your documents, unless of course you want us to, but will return them in the same condition that we received them in.

The committee’s work will be a major undertaking both in terms of time and information required. For further information on the City of Ottawa's Community Design Plan please refer to the City of Ottawa Official Plan, particularly Section 2.5.7 Collaborative Community Building and Community Design Plans. The Official Plan is available on-line at: http://ottawa.ca/city_services/planningzoning/2020/op/index_en.shtml, Section 2.5.7 is available at http://ottawa.ca/city_services/planningzoning/2020/op/vol_1/2_5_7_en.shtml.

Alternatively, hard copies of these documents can be obtained at City Hall or at the Main Branch of the Ottawa Public Library.
