Ottawa Public Library Partners with Canadian Museum of Civilization
Ottawa residents can now 'borrow' their way into Canada's largest Museum, thanks to a partnership between the Canadian Museum of Civilization Corporation and the Ottawa Public Library.
Residents can use their OPL library cards to sign out a Privilege Card from any library branch. The Privilege Card allows a family of four to discover or rediscover - the excitement of the Canadian Museum of Civilization, including the Canadian Postal Museum and the Canadian Children's Museum, or the Canadian War Museum, at no cost. It is hoped the Privilege Card will enable Ottawa families to visit the museums more often and to enjoy the frequently changing exhibits and programs.
There will always be fifty (50) Privilege Cards in circulation. They will be housed in each of the Library's 33 branches plus the bookmobile. The cards, which are in CD cases, can be borrowed for up to one week at a time. If they are all borrowed you can place your name on the waiting list.
