Manor Park Community Council

The Manor Park Community Council (MPCC) is a voluntary, not-for-profit organization providing a variety of high quality recreational programs to a wide age- range of participants.
63,000 participant hours in 2009!
Manor Park After School, the Manor Park Playschool, sports and summer day camps are often recognized as MPCC programs. But the MPCC also organizes free activities for the community. Some of the best are the Outdoor Hockey & Pleasure Skating Rinks; Movie Nights, Wonderful Wednesdays, Skating Party and Children’s Christmas Shop.
Over 400 weeks of programming each year!
3700 attendees at Special Events in 2009!
Community programming draws on the talents in our community. The MPCC hires students and adults. But none of the work would be possible without the contributions of community volunteers! Parent volunteer coaches, workshop instructors, and flippers of pancakes - we rely on all of you!
Over 80 volunteers!
Nearly 40 employees!
Most programs take place in or around the Manor Park Fieldhouse. Recently, the MPCC gave the Fieldhouse a facelift by painting the rooms, investing in some new furnishings, planting outdoors, and new signs and banners. Families love the play structure we have installed. The "Firestation" is safe (and fun) for the very youngest of toddlers! These activities in and around the Fieldhouse contribute to the safety of the community by replacing opportunities for vandalism and graffiti with community pride.

The MPCC also plays a role in keeping the community connected. Along with the MPCA, the MPCC sponsors this website and our local paper, the Manor Park Chronicle.

The Manor Park Community Council was established several decades ago and incorporated in 1987. The MPCC recognizes and thanks the City of Ottawa for the mandate and annual Community Funding Grant. Programs are financed on a cost recovery basis by fees, grants and donations. The MPCC is run by a board of volunteers who meet in the library of the Manor Park Public School (100 Braemar Street) on the 4th Wednesday of each month (September to June). New members are welcomed.
